Solid Rock Christian Church & Children’s Home

Western, Kenya – AFRICA

James 1:27, Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (NIV)

Your prayers and financial contributions to the Solid Rock Children’s Home and Evangelistic Work in Western Kenya is very important. There are 28 children presently being cared for by competent and caring Christians. Of course, that number may go up as the need arises. Food, clothing, school registrations, personal items, and medical needs are always at the top of the list for these children.

Food, clothes, school registration, toiletries, and medical needs for 1 child for a year costs about $2,000.

There are other needs for the Children’s Home that arise. They are needing to build a state approved secure food storage building, a state approved kitchen, a designated office building for staff, and purchase more beds and bedding.

The Children’s Home must become registered by the nation of Kenya to continue to operate. That means they will need various buildings and professionals on staff to accomplish this. As of now the government has been pleased with the progress of the Children’s Home. The Director has filed the proper paperwork for national registration, but the wait can be many months.

Also, evangelistic work is constantly being done by the two Evangelists. They serve with the church that began it all, Solid Rock Christian Church, Kenya. Now there are three congregations.

The work of church planting also takes money. Each congregation is poor. They are taught to be generous, yet they need rent money for meeting space or materials for building their own church buildings. They each need chairs, electricity for amplification systems and lights, Bibles, and weekly Lord’s Supper supplies.

The present work going on is exciting. Many people are hearing the truth of God’s Word for the first time. They are placing faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and being baptized into Him. The two Evangelists are very passionate about evangelism.

I personally have visited the Children’s Home and Solid Rock Christian Church, Kenya twice. I have meet with members of each of these congregations. Their love for God is wonderful. Their love for the Children’s Home is manifest in their own donations and service to care for the children.

Thank you for considering this ministry during your regular prayer times and in your mission budget.
