August 2009 Newsletter

“Dynamic Marriage”

By: Craig Rippy

I’m writing this newsletter article from down on the Bayou at Crocodile Dock. The decorations are great and the Solid Rock VBS Team is hard at work. Everyone has their assignments. Greg and Kelley are directing things well. Young people are learning to “Fear Not!” Wow, VBS at Solid Rock is FANTASTIC! 131 children and 111 helpers for the first night. Double WOW! Thank You Lord!

Okay, back to the article...

Marriage is the first of God’s institutions. It is an earthly representation of the harmony God the Father desires to have with His people, and the union the Church can enjoy with Jesus Christ. Yet, so many of us struggle with marriage. The divorce rate is high; more folks are living together instead of getting married; and premarital sex has become the norm.

People have seen so much failure in marriage they would rather enjoy a relationship without the commitment. If I didn’t have the perspective of Christ, I’d understand the apprehension of young people about marriage. But, with Christ’s help, we can experience the harmony, peace and sexual fulfillment God intends for married couples.

Family Dynamics Institute has a great eight- week course to strengthen marriages. Whether you have a good marriage or a rocky one, the FDI course can benefit you.

Craig and Becky Rippy have been professionally trained to facilitate Family Dynamic Marriage Enrichment Classes.

Couples Learn:

*How your Love Bank affects your relationship

*What your most important emotional needs are

*How to identify and meet each other’s most important needs

*Why most marriages don't survive perpetual Love Busters

*How affairs begin, how they can be stopped, and how love can be restored

*Why people commit to or abandon a relationship

*How to maintain a mutually fulfilling relationship

For More Information: http://www.familydynamics.net/

Some of the Rules:

*Only married couples can participate or those engaged to be married and have a wedding date set.

*You must attend six of the eight class sessions and do all the homework to fulfill your commitment and receive a certificate. (Class sessions about 2 ˝ hours in length).

*No childcare will be provided. You must acquire your own childcare outside of the church building.

*Everyone will be expected to participate.

*If the speaker (classmate) becomes emotional no one can rescue that person. Rescuing can diminish results such as needed confessions or repentance.

*No interruptions (phone calls, etc. ) unless it is an emergency.

Cost of Class is $150 per couple. This includes:

*8 Class sessions conducted by professionally trained Facilitators

*1 His Needs, Her Needs by Dr. Willard Harley

*2 Five Steps to Romantic Love workbooks by Dr. Willard Harley

*2 Dynamic Marriage Student Handbooks

*2 Dynamic Marriage Student Audio CDs

*1 Dynamic Marriage canvas tote bag

A Preview Meeting to introduce the Family Dynamics Marriage Enrichment Classes and to register for classes will be September 1st at 6:30 PM at the SRCC building. Fees will need to be paid at this time. SRCC will be offering a Scholarship for couples if needed. Speak with Craig if you need a Scholarship.

September 22nd we will have a Pre-session class to discuss rules, expectations and to give assignments. Every Tuesday, for the following 8 weeks, will be the Enrichment Class. Family Dynamics says, “Give us eight weeks and we’ll give you a better marriage.”
