“Survey Report”

By: Craig Rippy

The survey we took on June 1 has been studied and a report has been made. The Leadership Team is pleased with the results.

We had 101 surveys completed. 79 indicated they were members, 9 non-members, and on 13 forms membership was unidentified.

79 of the 101 surveyed marked all 12 questions as “I absolutely do.”

65 of the 79 members surveyed marked all 12 questions “I absolutely do.”

Two questions had more “I Do Not” or “Not Sure”, or left the circles unmarked than any other. Question #1) “I believe God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days.” Question #10) “I believe baptism/immersion is necessary to receive forgiveness of sins.”

The breakdown for Question #1 is as follows: Members - 8 (leaving 89.87% who chose “I absolutely do”). Non-Members - 2 (leaving 77.77% who chose “I absolutely do”). Unidentified - 4 (leaving 69.23% who chose “I absolutely do”).

The breakdown for Question #10 is as follows: Members - 6 (leaving 92.40% who chose “I absolutely do”). Non-Members - 1 (leaving 88.88% who chose “I absolutely do”). Unidentified - 2 (leaving 85.71% who chose “I absolutely do”). We had two Members surveyed that marked all 12 questions as (1), “I do not.” We must consider that they may have meant to mark all 12 as (3), “I absolutely do.” But, we could not assume this to be true in figuring the data.

So what does this tell us about the state of Solid Rock Christian Church? 82.27% of the members surveyed hold a view that agrees with the leadership team on all 12 Biblical teachings.

The Leadership Team (the Elders, Evangelist and Minister of Education) oversee the education program of Solid Rock. They are committed to understanding God, Salvation, and Godly living as revealed in the Bible.

Leadership will continue to teach sound doctrine. If you have questions about the survey feel free to ask. If you don’t agree with the Leadership please continue to learn from God’s Word. We want to please God first (1 John 4:21-24).

July 2008 Bits of News

The Secret Sister Banquet is being held on Friday, July 11, at 7 p.m. This is the time that your Secret Sister will be revealed! (It would be nice to have a parting gift for your sister!) If you would like to participate next year, you will be given a new form to fill out and give back to Diane Daniel so that she can start the process all over again. Please bring a covered dish for the meal.

Don’t forget, we save BEST CHOICE LABELS and ALUMINUM CANS to help with various projects like Vacation Bible School.

The Cookie Drop for this month is June Wynn.

We had quite an exciting month! Mike and Jama Harris joined fellowship with us on June 22 and their daughter Leah Harris was baptized into Christ on the 22. We had 2 baptized at camp, Hannah Gibson on the 10th and Kara Light on the 19th. Plus that, we have had 3 other baptizisms! RJ Wright on the 18th, Angie Blue on the 20th, and Adam Staples on the 22nd. Hallelujah and rejoice with the angels!

Doug and Diane Daniel have a lot to rejoice about also. 2 of their grandchildren were baptized at camp also. Emily and Bradley Daniel! Praise God!

Please check the sheets in the foyer for the needs for VBS. There are a lot of areas for you to bring food items or other items that need to be borrowed to keep from having to buy these items. Please look these over and check the days that they need to be here.

I want to give you all a big Thanks for all of yours prayers for me and my vertigo and my sleep apnea. Thanks to God and all of your prayers I am getting better on my sleep apnea. And my Vertigo is gone. I have a c-pap machine and it is helping a lot. Love you all and thanks again. Joyce Underwood.

It’s not too late for everyone to start planning for the Annual SRCC Family Camp at Gasconade Christian Service on August 29 and 30. We have the whole camp to ourselves including swimming pool, basketball, volleyball, etc. It’s really fun so plan on being there!
